Ethan Murrow Hoaxers and hucksters, obsessives, fake scientists, doomed explorers, pathetic inventors, liars, a make-believe whale, and two goats: these are the creatures of Ethan Murrow’s worlds... The gestalt of Murrow’s work, hidden in the fakery and malfunction of his subjects, is a truth about America. An honesty so veracious it can only be carried by the fictional accounts documented in Murrow’s videos and drawings. In conjunction with his 2008 exhibition at Obsolete Gallery in Los Angeles, Murrow has released a gorgeous book of art for which Kasini House's Ric Kadour wrote the opening essay. The over-sized, 96-page hard cover book contains images from "Doomed Explorers," "Pinto Brothers," "Freshwater Hoax," and "Dust Mining."
