A self-described trend whore, Steve Scicluna lives and works as a graphic designer in Malta. He uses a variety of media—acrylic, pastels, pencil, transferrables, spray paint, markers, old newspapers, and tape—to create edgy collages on cardboard. His influences range from New York street artist, Bast, to the typographic Christopher Wool, to Rothko. As such, his work combines the best of graffiti and punk with print and abstract expressionism. As a result, the images are uptown punk, downtown pop, or just good old contemporary art.
