We are living in a time when people are scared out of their wits. The happy images found in Protection are playful but they also say to the person, “You’re safe right now. Right now, for right this minute, you are OK.” If you can hang on to that minute-by-minute, maybe you’ll feel a little less pressured about the fact that anything could happen at any second. —Nina Gaby
