First Friday Art Walk Print 2006 Kasini House commissioned a limited edition print from Burlington artist Ira Cummings. The image of the print was used as the First Friday Art Walk poster for the 2006 season. An edition of thirty is available for purchase. “An image is only complete when all of its parts rely on each other in such a way that they could not exist on their own.” A printer who primarily creates abstract images, Ira Cummings’s milieu is the tension between order and chaos. He takes a meditative approach to creating work and strives for balance among the elements in a piece. The print shows two elongated forms rendered in a dark sepia on a background of grassy green. Of First Friday Art Walk 2006, Cummings remarked, the print “suggests a general dynamism through its composition and gesture. It’s an energy that I feel in this town, during First Friday Art Walk, during the South End Art Hop, during JazzFest. The two forms suggest coming together or the old breaking from the new.” To read Ira Cummings's interview in Artshop Magazine, CLICK HERE
