Kasini House’s ArtShop sells small artist products. This includes books, folios, catalogues, monographs, chapbooks, ‘zines, small one-of-a-kind works, multiples, and other creative endeavours by contemporary working artists. We sell work that turns us on and offers a unique approach to art and life.

Art Product are those things made by the art world which are not fine art, not simply reproductions of fine art, and not craft. Art Product is a family that includes the following genera: Ephemera, Publications, Multiples, and Small Art.

ArtShop started in 2004 as a way of organizing, exhibiting, and sharing the by-products and small objects of contemporary visual artists.

ArtShop exisits as an online store and magazine, as an installation at events, and in permenant installation at:

Considerations

Artists are invited to submit small products for consideration. While we keep an open mind, please consider the following:

1) We do not sell craft items; those items whose function is more important than their form.

2) We draw a distinction between visual art, which is a material thing that expresses ideas, thoughts, and feelings from a craft which is a material thing that incorporates function, form, and design within a particular medium.

3) We also draw a distinction between painting, print, and photography which function as a medium, meaning visual art which uses techniques to reproduce ideas, thoughts, and feelings and painting, print, and photography which functions as art, meaning the medium serves a larger purpose of expressing ideas, thoughts, and feelings.

4) We are primarily interested in contemporary art, or the art of now.

5) From submission to acceptance can take several months.

Submission Process

To submit products, mail the following information to Kasini House at the address below:

  • physical description of product or products;
  • artist name(s) and bio
  • pricing information (wholesale & retail)
  • number of editions, if the product limited and numbered
  • your name, email, phone, and mailing address.
  • images of the products or samples. (CD is preferred.)
